How in the 2006 movie World Trade Center, set in 2001 there are tons of cars from 2006 visible in shots. Kinda ruins the 2001 ambiance when there’s a 2005 Nissan Armada, 2006 Durango and a few others occasionally. Damn being a car enthusiast and noticing these things.

Decent movie though.

My favorite was in The People vs. OJ Simpson, during a flashback set in the early 80s, you could briefly  see a Prius. The show was mostly set in the mid 90s and otherwise did fine with its car selection.

Yeah, that was the scene where Johnnie Cochran gets stopped in his Mercedes with his kids in the back seat. They only closed a short stretch of road, so you had all the modern traffic on the cross street in the background.

Also, during the Bronco chase, the opposing lanes on the freeway were modern traffic, and many of the 90s cars used in closeups had obvious cosmetic flaws that wouldn’t have been there if they were nearly new.

Oh, and all the Chobani packages in the convenience store where everyone was glued to the TV.

I could go on for eons about anachronistic vehicles on film.    It gets to the point where I complain about tire styles not matching the portrayed year.  I think most producers don’t care, and most audiences don’t notice.

The fact they made a movie about 9/11 in 2006 with Nick Cage is what bothers me most about this film. There’s probably a whole lot more that would bother me, but there’s no way in hell I’d ever watch that thing.

Yeah, I remember a MK5 Jetta being in the background too. I also recall an EK Civic being on the freeway during the chase scene, which would have been a year before it came out, but I could be misremembering that.

In Narcos, they pull up in a BMW E39...

In The Big Short, I think it was newer Camrys everywhere...

Being a car nerd sucks the life out of so much sometimes haha.

In the beginning of Sid and Nancy they look out from a window onto the street. One of the cars parked there is a 3rd gen Honda Civic hatch. I noticed it right away because my mom had one at the time.

On the Hogwarts Express ride at Universal, you’re supposedly on the train with him to/from school, so mid ‘90s- ish. There are modern Fiat 500s in the film shots.

One of the things that bugs me the most while watching Buffy is that while Giles’s Citroen never changes, they make it out that the handful of other recurring vehicles are almost never the same. Buffy’s mom seems to keep trading in her XJ for the latest model in the exact same colour yet keeps suggesting she has no money. Cordelia’s red convertible changes every so often. But the biggest one is Oz’s van. He’s driving some JDM RHD thing when we first meet him, but then goes through a string of totally different full-size vans. It really bugs me.

Not quite as bad as how in the original series the A-team van whenever it goes through a gruelling stunt, will change make and model, including to box trucks a couple times.

It bugs me how people can make such glaringly obvious continuity errors and think they can get away with it.

Narco s drove me bonkers. They had tons of errors. When we first meet Pablo in 1979, he's in a square headlight Wrangler!

That stuff drives me nuts. My wife is constantly telling me to shut up and get over it.
